KERRY'S NOTES: ‘Colonialism Inc. is inspired by vintage fruit crate labels which often portray an idealized vision of food production. Crate labels were created to give a tantalizing image of warm tropical places for us consumers stuck in colder climates. This painting speaks more to the reality of food production in the African continent & the lingering hangover of colonialism.’
