KERRY'S NOTES: ' World Turned Upside Down was my reaction to the extreme acts of terrorist violence that occurred in Paris Friday Nov 13, 2015. I had seen this beautiful Muslim woman outside the Notre-Dame de Paris in 2012. Happily playing a tourist with her red sunglasses propped up. I completed a painting of her in 2013 but after Nov 2015 I turned the painting upside down, painted a bleeding French flag across the surface & stained her cheeks with tears of sadness.’
